We always have ‘Question Time’ and have
a healthcare professional at every meeting to ensure
that all questions on medical subjects are answered
correctly".
"Our meetings are held at Addenbrookes Hospital,
Cambridge, twice a year, in May and November.”
The 27th November 2004 saw our East Anglia Christmas
meeting and I am pleased to say that we had a wonderful
time. Ann and I had decided to make the meeting even
more relaxed, if that was possible, and this time did
without a speaker /demonstration as we often have had
in the past.
This time we had 5 new people, which we always particularly
welcome. In all we had approximately 40 at the meeting
which was one of our largest turnouts. As usual it was
lovely to have a mixture of patients, carers and representatives
from industry and the medical profession.
We were pleased with the positive feedback which we
received from a lot of the people attending who enjoyed
the relaxed, informal atmosphere, milling around chatting
amongst old and new friends. We were also delighted
to have made £76 from the raffle and tombola to
go towards the PINNT funds.
Our afternoon was rounded off with a question and answer
session. The topics of holiday insurance, the 6060 pump
and giving set, and water-proof dressings were raised
and discussed. It was very helpful to share so many
people’s experiences and hear their solutions
to some of the problems raised.
We would like to say a special thank you to everyone
who provided something for our buffet. A really big
thanks must be sent to Ann Bright for all the help that
she gave me, as she has been very poorly for the last
few months.
We look forward to seeing everyone at our next meeting
on 14th May 2005 and hopefully even more new members.
