If
you need to know about artificial nutrition therapy
(enteral or parenteral) usually self-administered
by patients in their own homes, then this is the
place.
PINNT stands for Patients on Intravenous
and Nasogastric Nutrition Therapy Our aims are:
•
to promote greater understanding of the therapies amongst
patients, potential
patients and the medical profession.
•
to provide contact between patients, to try and eliminate
some of the problems that come with treatment (particularly
when it is carried out at home).
• to encourage
membership, so that we can provide more services to
patients.
Over the years we have not only brought
together patients from all over the UK, but also doctors,
nurses and other healthcare professionals working in
the field of artificial nutrition worldwide.
We have regular meetings, regional
groups and a special section for younger patients -
Half PINNT
Half PINNT
is for young people. The specific needs of children
receiving artificial nutrition are usually met by their
families who do all the caring in isolation. We aim
to change that by putting families and their children
in touch with one another. To date, Half PINNT has successfully
welcomed many families into the PINNT "family"
where problems can be shared and experiences exchanged.
We currently have an internal Contact
Directory and the Half PINNT team will help families
make contact with others in their area or with the same
condition.
We believe that despite "life
on line" there must be good times and we try
to incorporate this with the serious side of all
the many difficulties that artificial nutrition can
present.

It’s perfectly acceptable to
be an individual
The common
factor that unites us within PINNT is our need for
artificial nutrition. Our members are either receiving
it, caring/supporting someone either professionally
or personally, working within the field that supplies
or manufac.tures the products, supplies or services
we receive.read
